At the Grammys 2024, the red carpet fashion, outfits and looks were right on key. On Sunday, the Grammys 2024 ceremony took over the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles where artists like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Jon Batiste, Janelle Monáe, Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice, Coco Jones, Jelly Roll and Noah Kahan among many others, all competed for music’s biggest honor. But on the Grammys red carpet, where aesthetics can be as different as each musician’s unique sound, fashion, styling, hair and makeup existed in perfect harmony.
Just moments before the televised ceremony began, Swift arrived on the Grammys 2024 red carpet in a strapless Schiaparelli couture look, which featured a dramatic full-length white gown with a thigh-high slit, lengthy train and sculptural bodice. The Grammy nominee, who has a reputation for working easter eggs into her ensembles, accessorized with 300 carats of black and white diamond jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz around her neck, including a watch face set to midnight, a nod to her nominated album Midnights. The red carpet was the first stop on what would be a history-making night for Swift, who received her fourth Album of the Year win, surpassing Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon, who each won the award three times (earlier in the evening, she also won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal album).
Going into the awards ceremony, SZA was in the lead with nine nominations stemming from her multigenre album, SOS, which blends R&B, hip-hop and pop. She took home awards for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her track “Ghost in the Machine” which featured Phoebe Bridgers, as well as Best R&B Song and Best Urban Contemporary Album. Not far behind SZA was singer-songwriter Victoria Monét with seven nominations. It was an eventful evening for Monét, who won Best New Artist, Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for Jaguar II.
But between mic checks, rehearsals, fittings and the start of the show at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, the red carpet welcomed artists from all genres and from all over the world. It was the first stop of the night for many – some of who did full wardrobe change before performing in front of a live audience – and the best place for an artist to cement their place in Grammys fashion history.
